Tampa, Florida · Paint correction · Ceramic coating

Tampa's paint, corrected.

A detailing studio in Tampa for black paint, Florida sun and the people who notice swirls from across the lot. Corrected, coated and inspected under the lights before it rolls out.

Before it rolls out

Inspected under these lights, then under the sun.

Every car leaves the bay after a final pass under LED and daylight, with notes on how to keep it looking like this.

The line

A detail is not a wash.

Every car here moves along one line: decontaminate, correct, protect, inspect. A maintenance wash stops at the first stop. A ceramic coating goes all the way to the end. The work is the same; how far you go is yours.

  • A foam cannon and a coiled pressure hose on a dark concrete floor
    Decontaminate

    Grit off, grime out

Snow foam, two buckets, iron remover and a clay pass.

  • A stack of folded gray microfiber towels beside three foam polishing pads on a dark counter
    Correct

    The scratches cut out

Compound and polish, panel by panel, by the paint gauge.

  • Three unlabeled black bottles on a black surface, lit from the side
    Protect

    Sealed against Florida

A sealant for months. Ceramic, cured under infrared, for years.

  • A single streak of light running across black paint
    Inspect

    Under the lights, then outside

LED, then daylight, then the care note in your hand.

The wash

Grit comes off before anything touches the paint.

Snow foam dwells and lifts the Florida grit, then two buckets, a soft mitt and a filtered rinse. No brushes, no tunnel, no new swirls.

Decontamination

Iron, tar and sap, dissolved, not scrubbed.

Wheels and arches get their own chemistry, and a clay pass takes the bonded contamination that a wash alone leaves behind.

The interior

Leather, brought back.

Cleaned, conditioned and wiped to a satin finish, seam by seam. Every vent, stitch and crease gets the same attention as the paint.

Inside

Like the day it was delivered.

Steam for the carpets, a soft brush for the grain, a conditioner that feeds the hide instead of coating it in shine.

What people notice.

Black paint, six Florida summers, and I'd stopped looking at it in daylight. After the two-stage correction I keep walking past it in the lot to check it's mine.

They came to the office lot, set up under a canopy and were gone before my 2 o'clock. The inside smelled like nothing, which is the point.

I asked for a wash and they told me the paint needed less than I thought, not more. That's why I went back for the coating.
